Hours on Market Street

The door is at 71 Market Street, Portland, Maine 04101. These are the hours the door is unlocked. The site does not post storm closures. If the street is bad, call (207) 555-0133 before you walk over.

Before the door opens

Tuesday through Friday the bench is working before 10:30. Wax is melted, oil goes in at 68°C, and we pour at 62°C. A morning is one pour or two. Twelve jars is a pour. By the time the door opens, the fresh vessels are cooling in the back, not on the front shelf. They stay back for ten days.

Saturday and Sunday we do not pour. The room is for selling, trimming, and answering questions about soot and cold jars. Monday the room is dark. We do not take a delivery at the door on Monday, and we do not open for a single jar. Call on Tuesday.

What fits in a visit

A wick trim on one of our jars takes a few minutes if the wax is cold. A longer look at a tunneled jar is better earlier in the day, not at 17:50 on a Friday. Sunday ends at 16:00. The register closes with the door. Holds agreed by phone last until the coming Sunday, then the jar goes back on the shelf. That rule is also on the terms.

The person at the desk is the person who poured in the morning. There is not a second counter. If you need a reply and you are not in the room, the telephone and desk@cindermoss.shop are the path. The form on Write does not send itself to us.

Weather

Market Street takes wind off the water. Ice on the sidewalk does not, by itself, change these hours. A city closure of the street does. We will not guess that from the shop. Call. If no one answers during posted hours, the door is shut and you should not make the walk.
